Evaluation of porches effect in annual energy consumption optimimzation of residential buildings

Residential buildings is one of the main centers of energy consumption in our country. Suitable architectural design can reduce the energy consumption with innovative solutions. porch is one of the key elements of the northern architecture in our country that Today the majority of residential buildings are so poorly designed. The present study attempts to modify the design pattern of the porch and check the annual energy consumption of the building. In this context design porches and modeling residential apartment in Babolsar city. building designed in three cases, without porch, with porch with lattice walls, with porch without lattice walls by Design Builder software then analysis Energy consumption for heating and lighting. The results show the positive impact of porch to reduce energy consumption in this apartment.
