Abstract:   (17 Views)
This paper proposes a novel energy management strategy for a DC microgrid incorporating electric vehicles (EVs), with the objective of simultaneously optimizing both generation costs and the level of greenhouse gases emission. The proposed microgrid has a Photovoltaic (PV) array, a Microturbine (MT), a Diesel Generator (DG), a Fuel Cell (FC), and battery storage, all of which supply the energy demand of consumers. Furthermore, the microgrid includes two parking facilities for light-duty and heavy-duty electric vehicles, responsible for providing the necessary energy to charge the electric vehicles. To enhance the proposed energy management system, the Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities of parking lots are employed to minimize, concurrently, the costs associated with electricity procurement and the level of greenhouse gases emission. The model of the proposed microgrid has been considered to be accurate and electrical power flow is a part of modeling procedure. Simulations and numerical studies in this paper have been performed using GAMS commercial software and results demonstrate that the proposed strategy can effectively reduce the electricity procurement costs and simultaneously decrease the emission of greenhouse gases.
