Abstract:
The location of a solar power plant is a very complex decision and depends on a wide range of criteria. Therefore, location can be considered a multi-criteria decision-making process that is used to prioritize different criteria and select the best option from among the possible options. The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility of establishing a solar power plant in Chabahar City using the multi-criteria decision-making process in the geographic information system. First, by reviewing the sources and obtaining standards, the criteria for establishing a solar power plant were determined. These criteria include slope, distance from the sea, distance from rivers and streams, sunshine hours criteria, current land use, distance from human communities, distance from communication routes, access to infrastructure facilities, then all criteria were entered into the geographic information system in a similar format and standardized. In the next stage, the grading method was used to weight the criteria and finally all layers were combined using the weighted linear combination method. Finally, three suitable areas around the city of Chabahar for the establishment of the solar power plant were determined.
